USCC I-500 Postponed

One of the strengths of a successful cross-country snowmobile racer is his or her ability to adapt many changes in terrain in a very short period of time. Well, with the weather situation the way it is this winter, cross-country racers will have to add the ability to adapt to race-schedule changes on relatively short notice to their list of talents!

Due to poor snow conditions in the Thief River Falls area, the date for the 2007 USCC-RED LAKE I-500 has been changed. The race and the 35th anniversary champions reunion planned in conjunction with the event, will now take place on February 16-18.

With the rescheduling of the "500", the USCC has added a new race that will take place on January 20th to fill the void left on the schedule. Plans are for a one-day race to be held in Minto, ND on Saturday, January 20. This race will replace the schedule spot lost when the Park X race was cancelled earlier.

USCC President Pat Mach had this to say: "Although the date change for the "500" will certainly be an inconvenience for some racers, we are fortunate to have an alternate location with adequate snow cover to hold a race. This will give our racers more time to get their sleds dialed in before the new "500" date, and it will also allow us to stay on track for our goal of holding 9 races this season."

The USCC is working to find a new date for the Ada 100 that was previously scheduled for February 17th. "I'd like to sincerely thank the Moonshiners Snowmobile Club in the Twin Valley/Ada area for their understanding in our schedule changes. They have been partners of the USCC since day one and they are truly great to work with," Mach said.

The USCC will post an Ada update as soon as it becomes available.
