Minto, ND, (June 18, 2009) – Gather your parts, prep your sled, fill your fuel cans and book your rooms because the most prestigious and grueling cross-country race on the planet is set to go down next January 15-17, 2010. The USCC Red Lake I-500 will be held at the Seven Clans Hotel and Casino in Thief River Falls, Minn. The 2010 race will mark the 38th running of the event that so many racers consider the ultimate win to have on your snowmobile racing resume.

Red Lake I-500 Cross Country Snowmobile Race “The I-500 is definitely the most popular race on our schedule,” said USCC President Pat Mach. “Our entries go up every year and we’re anticipating well over 100 riders this year.” The three-day, 500 mile race is a huge test of rider skill and stamina, machine setup and the ability of the crew to keep its rider in
the race. Also, a win in the I-500 not only puts the rider’s name in the history books, it also puts $10,000 in cash in their pockets.

“Seven Clans Casino has been a huge supporter of this event and we can’t thank them enough for hosting the race every year,” said Mach. “I think the best moment is when the casino presents the winning rider the $10,000 in cash. You can’t beat that.”

The United States Cross-Country Snowmobile Racing Association (USCC) is based out of Minto, ND and attracts more than 200 professional and amateur snowmobile racers to each of its events. The USCC series is North America’s premier form of cross-country snowmobile racing; it is the only racing organization that sanctions events comprised entirely of terrain cross-country races. The race courses include ditch lines, frozen lakes and deep woods trails. Its 2008-09 schedule marks the circuit’s seventh season with races hosted in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Michigan. The USCC is sanctioned by International Snowmobile Racing (ISR); ISR has been serving the racing community for more than 25 years. Please visit www.usccracing.com for more information.
