Wins USCC Red Lake 200
|
Minto,
ND (February 1, 2010) - In what proved to be an incredibly
rough two-day race, Polaris rider Aaron Christensen emerged atop the
time charts in the FXR Pro 600 class at the USCC Seven Clans Red Lake
200 Janaury 30-31, 2010. Riders raced on a course that consisted of
woods, ditch and logging road and it grew progressively whooped-out
over the course of the weekend and by the end of Day 1 there were
five-foot holes marking many places of the route. The race was the
second of three in the Seven Clans 7-7-7 challenge and sent a message
to riders that winning the 7-7-7 prize money would not come easy.
DJ Ekre
Christensen, who
hails from Metiskow, AB, logged a two-day time of 2:54:31.623, just
fourteen seconds ahead of the second place rider, Arctic Cat racer
Brian Dick (2:54:48.725). The two riders had separated themselves
from the rest of the pack of Pro riders over the course of the weekend,
putting six minutes on the third place rider D.J. Ekre (Arctic Cat,
3:00:32.344).
"The Red
Lake 200 turned out to be a real tough challenge for the racers,"
said USCC President Pat Mach. "USCC wants to provide the racers
with challenging courses and we also want the prize money to be earned
so when someone wins a USCC you know it didn't come easy. So far this
season all of our races have fit this mold including the Red Lake
200."
Ryan Faust
Christensen also
won the Fox Racing Shox Pro Open class with a time of 52:52.980. Polaris
rider Ryan Faust won the ArcticFX Graphics Semi-Pro 600 class with
a time of 2:05:26.912, almost two minutes ahead of second place Brad
Cierzan. Faust also won the AMSOIL Semi-Pro Improved class with a
time of 56:45.473. Other class winners at the Seven Clans Red Lake
