Membership Form Bib Number reminder

When filling out your membership form, new racers and racers who are not current USCC members need to provide three DIFFERENT race bib choices. We have had several forms come in recently with only one number selected, or with the same number entered in all three choice boxes. We try to assign you with your first choice whenever possible, but we are not always able to do so. In cases where only one number has been selected and that number has already been chosen, we will assign a random race number for you. Racers wishing to keep a favorite number that may already be in use can usually add a letter to the number in order to make it usable. For example, if you want number 224 and that is already taken, you can add a letter to the number (first letter of your last name, an "x", or whatever) if you wish. In this case, 224x or 224w would be usable in most cases. Please remember though, when choosing a number and putting it to use, it must be HIGHLY VISIBLE and EASY TO READ for our race course spotters, this includes any letters that may be added. If a spotter can't read your number out on the course, they may miss you at a checkpoint which could result in a time penalty or disqualification for you. So, when getting your graphics printed up, make sure that your numbers can be easily read from a distance and remember to have the back of your race jacket numbered as well.

Thank you!
